This turned out to be such a sweet little card. Once I finally figured out how to use my dies to make a folded card I just fell in love with the technique and couldn't stop making them. It breathed new life into all my old dies. I think I explained how to do it in an earlier post, but here is the link to a pretty good video on it just in case. Beth Beard does an amazing job explaining the technique in this video. The other thing is I just love the pennant placement on this card. I never quite know if I am going to be in the right mood to actually pull off the placement of

embellishments when I'm making a card. It sounds funny, but with me if I'm having an off day or my head isn't totally in the mood to make a card when it comes down to placing the paper embellishments it can either go totally smoothly or be a nightmare. Lots of times I know exactly how I want to look in my head, but my fingers just don't want to seem to do what my brain is telling them. Then I start getting frustrated, and before you know it the whole thing is a MESS! And I just have to walk away. On this piece it was so nice. The idea seemed to shoot right out of my head and the card was done. It turned out so cute

I almost wish I kept it. It sort of made me a little bit sad because the person I sent it to didn't acknowledge that they received it. Which is fine of course, but when I asked them about it they said oh yea I got it... thanks. Which again is fine I wasn't looking for a ton of praise or anything. Maybe a "hey that card was cute, and you making it for me made me feel special " would have been awesome. But, I have to keep reminding myself not everyone is going to be as excited about something I made for them, but I thought this person would be. -SIGH- the lament of a card maker. Oh well, not everyone is as into this as I am, and I would be making them anyway. I just happen to make them for occasions so I can give them away and not let them pile up in my studio. I think I might just write that on a piece of paper and tack it up to my studio wall. Oh, and I almost forgot I coated the letters THANKS in glossy accents, and I just love the effect it gave to the card. Ok enough jabbering here are the supplies I used.
