This has been such a busy month. TONS and Tons of gift giving. I was starting to get really board of wrapping paper. And I wanted my birthday gifts to have a very different feel than the Christmas gift so I decided to decorate them with washi tape. Here are the three different ways I go through in the video. A picture of my homemade tag template is bellow in case you want to make one for yourself, as well as a list of supplies.
I decided to travel WAY out of my comfort zone and make a really, really festive tag. I needed a topper for a present, and red and blue seemed to naturally over take the project. It ended up looking so very cute on the top of the present! And because of the color combo I could see it from across the room. I just love the little paper circles and flags. It really was the perfect paper to use on their project.
Oh and one quick tip. The green glitter ribbon that I have is AWESOME, but I was very disappointed that the glitter on it does flake off after awhile. So sad... That's the main reason I bought it was to solve my age old glitter issues. Namely I truly love, love, love glitter, but HATE it when it gets all over everything. And have tried so many methods to solve this issue. Nothing has worked so far. Anyway, to make the green glitter ribbon usable I coated the top of it with glossy accents. It works... the glitter is still glittery and sticks to the page without rubbing off. So yea! But I am still on the quest to find the perfect glitter solution.

Ooooooooh I got so many new punches I just had to try them all out!!!! And that is what happened to this tag. Oh this was just so much fun to make. I just went crazy on this poor little piece of paper. Lets see... first I made the tag. I think I traced an old one and enlarged it. Then I stamped the background with versamark ink to give it a pretty shadow effect, and not to make it too busy. Cuz I knew I was going to be adding tons, and tons of stuff to the front. Then I made some ribbon edged banners. And stamped out some little fun embellishments with one of my new stamping up stamps. Then I just finished it off with tons of fun elements EVERYWHERE!!! I ended up putting this on a present for my Mom's birthday. She had so much fun looking at all the different elements.

In my life long quest to make the perfect flowers out of punches I ran across LaughItOutNow on YouTube. She has two great videos to make 10 different types of flowers with one set of punches (Video 1, and Video 2). It sounds like a dream come true to me. Here is my first attempt with them. So with a ton of little paper flowers scattered all across my desk, (and a few in my hair), after hours of playing my new To: and From: stamp, and journal stamp were staring at me dejectedly. So I had to make the perfect little tag for Valentines Day. It was so cute I almost couldn't give it away. I just love the pink and contrasting bakers twine together. Black and pink has always screamed French Shabby Chic to me. And though this tag doesn't really convey that it is a good reminder that I have to making shabby chic stuff as I reveil in my ultra cute, girly, flower encrusted gift tag.
