Ok, I think we can all safely say that the wedding episode of Sherlock was the best episode EVER!!! If you want a full recap of it click this link... ‘Sherlock’ recap: Season 3, Episode 2, ‘The Sign of Three’ - I think this is going to be one of those that I buy on Amazon instant video so I can watch it on my phone when I need a good laugh. Like at the doctors office or something. I've been doing that a lot lately with specific Twilight Zone episodes that I love, or certain movies that make me zone out so I can breeze through paperwork. I just have it playing int he background on my computer then I don't have to even turn on my TV. And really I could watch the scene where he has instantly folded like 20 napkins in a minute over, and over again. But I have to stop it before the end of the episode usually right around where he is playing his violin. I hate that last scene it's just too sad. But the next episode makes that scene null and void so I guess it doesn't matter, but still to sad for me.
I woke up this morning and my boyfriend said you better check your studio I think we have a mouse. So of course I ran over and this was on one of my art tables. Its a one inch stick figure based on the ones in True Detective (keep in mind 1 inch). A show we have both fallen in love with. Seems he couldn't sleep last night, and decided to start my morning off with a laugh. Yep, it freaked me out for a second. As do most of his antics, then I couldn't stop laughing. The man just continually cracks me up.
I have to tell you these are seriously the best stuffed mushrooms I have ever had. So Last week my sisters decide to have a little party for my Mom. So she gets all the family together, and we are all trying to figure out what to bring, which is never easy to organize. Finally, I get my sister just to tell me what to bring. And out of no where she says stuffed mushroom. Something I have never made before, and she says oh their easy just so this, this, and this. Ok I don't trust her "this, this , and this" So what do I do. What does any rational woman do in this day and age when they need a recipe? That's right I hit the boards on pinterest. I found a recipe that I sort of liked, but as per usual I used that recipe as a skeleton and built upon it. Here is a link to the original recipe, which was very good, but I need a little bit more. And that more is in a recipe below. I did end up putting a little to much cayenne pepper in them, but actually it made them taste better. I walked in the door with a hot plate of these mushrooms and by the time I got to the kitchen they were gone. Seriously, they were so good I think I might have to make them again thie weekend just for me and my man.
Heaven sent Stuffed Mushrooms
20 whole fresh mushrooms
3 cloves garlic
1 package (8 ounce) cream cheese, softened
1⁄4 cup shredded Italian cheese mix (parmesan, romano etc)
1⁄4 tsp ground black pepper
1⁄4 tsp onion powder
1⁄4 tsp ground cayenne pepper
Italian bread crumbs
Ok this year I'm going to do it! I'm going to start my little succulent micro garden. I have loved these beautiful little things for YEARS and YEARS. I keep shopping for them, and I always find something wrong with the one I pick out right before I'm about to buy it. It's probably because I'm not entirely sure how to take care of them. But whatever fears I have about maintaining them I'm sure pinterest would be able to answer all my questions. So this is the year people!!!
One of the best things about living with my boyfriend is that he is able to mend my wounds when my exacto knife slips. But more importantly that he already knows the Hello Kitty face on the band aid must be centered and placed faced looking up at me in order for me to heal properly.
Today is a clean up the studio day. And yes I spent WAY to much time organizing my stamp collection instead of cleaning off my two work tables like I should be doing. So I am posting this here as a triumphal image and a shaming so I can now get back to work on what I should be doing. I do love my stamp collection though (that's just half of it). The first 3 boxes are organized by season Spring, Fall, Winter. Most of my stamps are for Fall and winter. The fourth box in the row are basic decorative stamps. Then on a different shelf I have a box of sentiment stamps, background stamps, and a couple boxes of stamp'in up stamps. It's easier for me to flip through the boxes when I'm creating something. I use to have them in books, but that just never quite worked for me. I need to have things out in the open if I'm going to use it.
I dearly love Wookie Kitty so much it HURTS!!! I have no idea where this image came from. I just saw it someone re-post it on Facebook so if anyone knows It's origins I would love to know. Look at his ears!!!! And the serious look on his face! I love it!
So I think I've found something that I've been looking for, for a long time. My quest has been for some sort of exercise that doesn't feel like exercise, more like dance. Something that has a strong yoga base, that I can do at home. It has to focus on stretching, and something that doesn't use equipment so that whenever I feel like I need to take a break, and just shake my stress out I can. I have a very strong dance background, and before my current job my work has always been very physical. Now both my work and all of my hobbies are sedentary so I need something that makes me want to get up and shake my money maker. Well last night I found this thing called Buti Fitness by Buzzie Gold. She defines Buti as a high-intensity workout that fuses yoga and dance with circuits of plyometrics and conditioning. It looks hard, but it also looks like it's something that if you stick with it for a little bit it's doable and fun. I've almost decided to make it my personal goal to see if I can do one of these videos a day this year. I'll keep you updated on my progress. Here is a link to some of her videos on her site. Posted below are a couple of my favorite so far. A little tide over until my videos arrive that I ordered from her. Wish me luck!
Ok this video has been bouncing around my friends Facebook pages for a few weeks now, and it is really cracking me up now. No matter how weird or horrible a day it always makes me feel better. Best line ever... "You took too long... now your candy's gone... That's what happened"
There is the cutest little visitor in my office today. His name is Jack, and he has VERY good manners. He is also VERY excited to help me work.
Welcome to my little corner of the internet. This is my space where I can showcase my obsession with paper crafting, and a few products I've cooked up along the way. Thank you so much for stopping by.
