So my favorite man in the whole world birthday was quickly approaching. All the gifts were purchased, but there was this one video game I wanted to get him. I couldn't figure out if he really wanted it or if there was something else he wanted more. And with video games you have to shop around for the best price, or where the aren't sold out of them. So I decided to just give him the money for it. A little tacky I know, but he is a guy he doesn't care about such things. And at least I could dress up the money to make it respectable in a lovely gift card holder. Now the tough part. How do I make my style bend to make a more masculine item. Well... it was hard, and really the only thing I came up with was to make it simple, tone down the accessories, and make the color work for me. And as you can see the design is very toned down for me. With a very simple color pallet. But the design
still carries a fun punch to it. And I wrote happy birthday on it instead of stamping it because I wanted it to be a little bit more personal. He ended up loving it. And as I thought there was a different game that he wanted more. That he had to travel to 5 stores to find. So I continue my reign as best girlfriend in the world.
I dearly love this little gift card holder. It was a tutorial my favorite Stampin Up demonstrator ChicnScratch posted on Youtube. It looks so impressive once it's finished and it doesn't really take that long to make. It's more like a little wallet. And the decorative label punch, (which is my fav), accents the cover beautifully. Just a little bit of bakers twine and stickles makes for the perfect note of decorative flare.
