Well I have to say I am very proud of myself. Last weekend I finally started my art journal, again. I had done a lot of art journaling in collage. And I have been needing to start one up again, but I just couldn't figure out the right system for it. Should I do it on a big spiral bound drawing pad, or just make the journal pages and bind them later. I know these things sound silly, but I HATE starting something and then half way through changing how to hold it together. But then that new way of holding it together changes the size of the paper or something. Then I have to start the WHOLE project over from the beginning. Also, I was trying to figure out what I want to accomplish with the journal. Would the journaling just be play time for art materials or would there be some sort of reason for it. Would it just be an actual journal, or would it just be for art. All of these thoughts had been hindering me from starting it. But after thinking about it for so long certain serendipitous pieces fell together last week, and all the questions were answered (as they always are in their own time) so I was able to clear my head and finally get a page started. As far as the organization I would make the journal like Shari Carroll does, (at the very end of this video you can see how she binds her art journal pages together and what she uses to both flatten them out and store them). And then the next major question was what am I going to use this journal for. I have never been a do something for just doing it sake kind of girl. And also, I have never really been a journaling type person so I decided to do each page as a way to remember different art techniques that I've learned or want to try. A lot like RachO113 or Vicky Papaioannou does in their videos.
Welcome to my little corner of the internet. This is my space where I can showcase my obsession with paper crafting, and a few products I've cooked up along the way. Thank you so much for stopping by.
