Awww... I'm going to miss my little Christmas decorations. Christmas seemed to just zoom by this year. Now ill have to put them away pretty soon, and then I won't be able to see them for another year. So sad, but they will be waiting for me to celebrate with them again next year.
I am seriously wanting this for dinner tonight, but I'm already too tired to go to the grocery store. And especially not the grocery store that carries the chibata bread. Sooooooo I guess it will have to go in the saved recipe file to languish until I rediscover it another day... BUT I WANT IT SO MUCH NOW!!! Maybe I could steal some of my coworkers coffee to get the energy to go. Huummm.... nope not even coffee will help at this point. I miss you yummy chicken ranch chibata sandwich... I miss you soooo much!!!!
Here are two images that every person starting a December Daily album should have...
One... everyone's life is interesting enough to journal everyday for December. And if you think it isn't them there are a billion prompts that you can write about. Some of my favorite pages are when I'm reminiscing about my Christmas as a child. So you don't just have to write about your day. You can write about whatever you want for each day.
Two... If putting the album together gets to overwhelming after a few weeks, and you just don't feel like finishing it in January. I have seen more than a few people just insert that reindeer image in the back of their album (a lot of them were well known people in the crafting industry and on youtube) and call it finished. After the second week of December usually I will loose steam on the project and stop actually making the pages but I will continue to write about my days (usually in an email to myself from my phone so I make sure to do it and have the date on it) and take pictures. Then when the lull of activity happens in mid January it's really easy to print everything out and put it all together. And then I get to use up some of my Christmas paper stash. I think I might do a video on all of this. Because it does really feel daunting. The first year I did it I almost gave up like 3 times, but then I realized I just had to figure out a better system for it. And this album is really a Christmas present to myself. Time is just going by so fast, and my mind is not remembering the nuances of how my time is spent anymore. And one of my favorite things is going back and remember just what I was doing at this time a year ago so I forced myself to finish it, as I will do this year as too. Also, it's a great place to put Christmas cards you've received. I kind of want to do it for my birthday month too, but we will see how I feel after I finish this years album.
I found these adorable free printable from stitchintime on pinterest today. Aren't the little deers the cutest! They almost made me cry they are so adorable. And the Reindeer Tracker is the BEST!
Here is the link for my date tags I used for my December Daily's. I printed them out in black. Those are one thing that make organizing your pages a lot easier. I will cut those apart, print out my journaling pages, and images at work. Paper clip them together and work up a spread on my lunch break or when I get home. For some reason I am much better at keeping up with this if I do it at work. At least get the basic spread all laid out and in the binder. Then when I have time I can go back and embellish. Last year I figured out to do this. And embellished everything after the holidays were over. So you can extent the Christmas spirit for a little while longer. Below is the Christmas prompts I've been using when I get stuck for ideas. I don't use all of them, or in order. Just pick and choose the ones I like. But it has been really helpful.
Alright, I did decide to start December Daily's again this year. But I also decided to not spend any money on it other than for the binder I put it in (because I want it to match all my other binders). I am going to purely do it out of my stash, and some free printables off the internet. I also decided that at the beginning of everyday I would write and email to myself about the day before. That way it would be easier to keep track of my journaling. And for my journaling I would trying to focus on just one funny or interesting thing that happened that day. Once a week I would give a run down of what a typical day consisted of in my life right now. And then if I run out of things to write about I would look up some December daily prompts on pinterest and run with that. So I will see how this works for me and tweak my process as I go along. There are some really fun images on pinterest about what some other people did for their pages. I just love how creative people get with them. The image below is my new favorite! Such a great journal page.
I've been ferociously scrolling all around pinterest to find my December dashboard image for my planner. And I decided on this one, So cute!!! Now that, that is done I can start planning my holiday festivities, and even thinking about December dailys. I ended up doing it last year and LOVED it. But it's one of those things that you really have to think hard about if you want to do. If you start it and don't finish it you really feel like you let yourself down. But I loved looking though it as time passes, but I'm so behind on my regular scrapbooking how will I have time for this too. Also, you know it will be super hard to keep up with it so you have to have a great system of keeping your thoughts organized so that you can collect your pictures, and journaling then later fill in the blanks. Clearly, I have to give this some more thought.
I really like how easily this card came together. It was just a few punches, some die cuts, a few scraps of paper, and done. I think this might be my go to card shape when I don't have a clue for what kind of card I want to make, but have to make one fast. I also love the shape of a top folding card. The bottom comes out a little longer than the top so it looks a little like a matchbook. Very cute!
Welcome to my little corner of the internet. This is my space where I can showcase my obsession with paper crafting, and a few products I've cooked up along the way. Thank you so much for stopping by.
