I found one of the coolest projects from one of my favorite Stamp'in Up Demonstrators. Her blog name is Pootles, and she makes the BEST boxes, and has a TON of videos up on youtube on how to make them. But this one was SUPER useful to me this week. I've been trying to figure out how to store my stickles, and liquid pearls. Until now I've been storing them upside down in a tea cup on my desk. But I have too many of them. I hate only storing a few in the cup at a time upside down and the rest of them right side up. So when I go to use the ones that weren't upside down I get air bubbles, or the tip is all clogged up. I know you can buy this long plastic thing to hold them in, but it's really big. And I just don't want to buy something if I can make it. So I was watching Miss Pootles make this spritzer holder and I thought huh I wonder if I could modify that for the stickles. Maybe make it shorter or the holes bigger. SO I made one, and to my wonderful surprise the stickles, and liquid pearls tops fit perfectly into it. And because of the construction of the box they weren't too heavy or fell over. I've had it sitting on my desk for a couple of weeks now, completely full up with bottles, and there have been no issues with it at all. This makes me so happy!!!! YAY!!!!
Ok, I think we can all safely say that the wedding episode of Sherlock was the best episode EVER!!! If you want a full recap of it click this link... ‘Sherlock’ recap: Season 3, Episode 2, ‘The Sign of Three’ - I think this is going to be one of those that I buy on Amazon instant video so I can watch it on my phone when I need a good laugh. Like at the doctors office or something. I've been doing that a lot lately with specific Twilight Zone episodes that I love, or certain movies that make me zone out so I can breeze through paperwork. I just have it playing int he background on my computer then I don't have to even turn on my TV. And really I could watch the scene where he has instantly folded like 20 napkins in a minute over, and over again. But I have to stop it before the end of the episode usually right around where he is playing his violin. I hate that last scene it's just too sad. But the next episode makes that scene null and void so I guess it doesn't matter, but still to sad for me.
I woke up this morning and my boyfriend said you better check your studio I think we have a mouse. So of course I ran over and this was on one of my art tables. Its a one inch stick figure based on the ones in True Detective (keep in mind 1 inch). A show we have both fallen in love with. Seems he couldn't sleep last night, and decided to start my morning off with a laugh. Yep, it freaked me out for a second. As do most of his antics, then I couldn't stop laughing. The man just continually cracks me up.
I want this sticker set so bad!!!! But someone already bought it. It's got all sort of yokai, japanese ghosts, and a kitsune or two. Someone was selling it one Etsy. I wish I could have picked it up! It even has a couple of Ju-on women with the hair over their eyes. Oh look I think it even has a Tanuki.
Look pretty flowers made with book pages. There is also a great garland, and some home decor all made with book pages in this post by Tip Junkie (http://www.tipjunkie.com/post/book-pages/). I just love the light blue paired with the brown, and the newspaper. It all looks so cute together. I've been trying to find a whole bunch of projects to try with Fringe Scissors I just bought a pair, and I can't wait to try them out. These were made easy enough by taking a strip of printed paper from a book or newspaper, I think I would probably use one of my background stamps that looks like a page in a book like Hero Arts Cling Stamp, Thank You Definition. She then fringe cut along the whole strip, and rolled it up into a flower. She has really good pictures of the process on her post so take a look when you get the chance. I am completely obsessed with making paper flowers, not realistic ones but fun ones. So this one ranks among my my new favorites.
So I guess tulle covered balloons are a thing now. I just noticed pictures of them are all over pinterest. It is a nice way to make a balloon elegant enough for a wedding or adult party. And really who doesn't want balloons at their event. The tiny prints blog (see image below) has a great tutorial on making tulle covered balloons with these adorable tulle poms poms all over them. SO CUTE!!!
This is such an inspiring cake table for a wedding! It is just so beautiful! And the picture of it is lovely. I found it through pinterest on Jordan McBride's website, she's a wedding and event planner. The circle streamers, with the tassel swag banner in lovely cotton candy pink and gold are to die for. What a special day they must have had.
Welcome to my little corner of the internet. This is my space where I can showcase my obsession with paper crafting, and a few products I've cooked up along the way. Thank you so much for stopping by.
